What Did Jehovah Expect from Adam and Eve?
Everlasting Life in the Garden of Eden was conditional. Jehovah expected that Adam and Eve obey the one condition of living in the Garden of Eden. They could eat from any of the trees in the Garden except for the one in the center of the Garden, they were not to even look at the tree, so as not to form a longing for it. First Eve, then Adam ate from the one tree they were asked not to. Thus, they disobeyed the one command that was given them to live forever in the Garden of Eden.
This is at the beginning of the Bible because this is why things are the way they are. The rest of the Bible explains how Jehovah God has taken measures to rectify Adam’s disloyalty and disobedience for the sake of Adam’s offspring. If you would want to be included in future blessings for Adam’s offspring you will need to consider that the Condition of future life is the same for us.
Read 1 Samuel 12:22 Samuel then said: “Does Jehovah take as much pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Look! To obey is better than a sacrifice, and to pay attention than the fat of rams.” Whether we are worshiping Jehovah or just day to day living we will have to Listen and Obey the voice of our Creator and Provider of a Better Life than we live today.
This picture illustrates how good life can be. The couple are totally enjoying the peace that will exist when the People and Earth are ruled by God’s Kingdom. The Couple may be hundreds of years in age, yet their appearance will not show it like the aged people today, this comes from the Bible book of Job 33:25 Let his flesh become fresher than in youth;
Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.
As you can see they have plenty to eat Psalms 72:16 states “There will be an abundance of grain on the earth;
On the top of the mountains it will overflow.
His fruit will flourish as in Lebʹa·non,
And in the cities people will blossom like the vegetation of the earth.” Doesn’t the park-like setting look appealing. This is what Adam and Eves commission was in the beginning, to cultivate and subdue the Earth. Yes that will be enjoyable family work. Not stressful or overwhelming, but satisfying and pleasant.
You see their children playing with animals that are dangerous today, yet the Bible states that by the spirit of Jehovah God they will be at peace with each other and submissive to humans, you can read this in the Bible at Isaiah 11: 6 “The wolf will reside for a while with the lamb,
And with the young goat the leopard will lie down,
And the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together;
And a little boy will lead them.
7 The cow and the bear will feed together,
And their young will lie down together.
The lion will eat straw like the bull.
8 The nursing child will play over the lair of a cobra,
And a weaned child will put his hand over the den of a poisonous snake.
9 They will not cause any harm
Or any ruin in all my holy mountain,
Because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah . As the waters cover the sea”
The Bible writers all received this information from the same God. The thoughts that run through the Bible all are in unity with each other, even though the Bible writers lived some 1000 years apart, that internal harmony helps us to see this comes from a God that was alive over those many years. The Bible writers were allowed to write in their own natural way, but they made many promises like these we just read. Look back at the picture, do you know what will make this possible for you and your family?
The Peace that will exist then is due to the fact that the people have learned what conditions must be met to Enjoy Everlasting Life on a Paradise Earth. Most of the conditions are for your own good the prophet Isaiah brings that out at Isaiah 48:17 “This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel:
“I, Jehovah, am your God,
The One teaching you to benefit yourself,
The One guiding you in the way you should walk.
18 If only you would pay attention to my commandments!
Then your peace would become just like a river
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
19 Your offspring would be as many as the sand
And your descendants as its grains.
Their name would never be cut off or annihilated from before me.” “.
What does Jehovah God Himself say about the promises we look forward to? Let’s read in the Book of Revelation, it’s the final book of the Bible. The Book of Revelation is at the end because it wraps up everything the Bible speaks of as respects our time and the day’s when God’s Kingdom takes over the governing of the Earth. Immediately after human governments are gone is when Revelation 21 speaks of, let’s read verses 3-6 ” 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” 6 And he said to me: “They have come to pass! I am the Alʹpha and the O·meʹga, the beginning and the end. To anyone thirsting I will give from the spring of the water of life free”
Can you see what Adam and Eve threw away, and for what? What ever their deepest desires were, nothing they disobeyed God for could ever equal what He wanted for them, and now us will we not be willing to find out what the conditions for life are? Are we to busy? Will our friends or family harass us? Does being religious just seem plain or boring? Some people go to college for 8 or 12 years to master some career or for the esteem of a few short fleeting years. Jehovah is asking us to stay away from things that will harm us and give Him our full attention and He will give us Eternal Peaceful Living on a planet that we will enjoy Forever, can you comprehend how long that is? How many years is that? A Billion times a Billion times a Billion times a Billion times a Billion times a Billion times a Billion and so on. Those years will be spent eating the best food on earth. Those years will be spent enjoying your mate and your children and their children and their children and their children on and on. There can be nothing worth more than what Jehovah God Promises Us and He cannot lie.
Hebrews 6:18 “in order that through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to take firm hold of the hope set before us”
